Girls' night out

I hang out mostly in an all-guys group.

But sometimes, there's nothing quite like a girls' night out.

A couple of days ago, Starbreez and I planned to go on a midnight shopping spree at Mustafa Shopping Centre. She said she would pick me up at midnight, and the delightfully punctual girl was there at my doorstep exactly at midnight.

Hours of senseless shopping. Bollywood DVDs. Make-up. Bangles. How girly can you get? Finally, in the wee hours of the morning, we headed home, feeling really happy. The sense of achievement we had gave us a high.

In India, I woudn't even dream of two girls going on a post-midnight shopping spree by themselves. Which just makes me so sad.

Yes, I do grumble about Singapore now and then, proudly saying things like "Hamaare India mein toh aise nahin hota hai!" ("In India, it's not like this!")

But once in a while, I do take time off to be grateful for my life in Singapore.

But I guess you wouldnt lead the kinda of life you lead here if you were in India.I am guessing you chose that late hour cos you cudnt find the time during the day?

Not really. We chose that hour just for kicks :)

post midnight shopping spree in india...hmmm...even if you do choose to, dun think there's any place open post midnight, back there. and something like supper at Newton or Bencoolen or the regular hangouts are a very rare possibility even in the busiest of cities like Bombay aka Mumbai or the like. Mite find a chai wala (the pushcart guy selling tea) maybe till, say 2 a.m? Sure is a luxury here at least over weekends where you can call it a day? at dawn? =) and sleep till noon!?...;P

that makes friday all the more pleasant...=)

hi
India , our land is by no means perfect.
But still it remains close to our hearts. and yes there r so many things here which can not be found anywhere else in the world.

Hehe.. Starbreez, going at unearthly hours is the first line of defence against weird stares. But you would know the kicks I mentioned only if you were a girl born and brought up in India :)

Vicky,
I agree with you completely.

Ya allah! Sahil ko toh kuchh bhi nahin maloom! :O

When someone book tags you, you have to write some standard stuff about the books in your life, like how many books you own, what was the last book you read, etc.

When someone blogrolls you, they place a link on their blog, leading to yours.

Pramod had book tagged me long ago, and now Angel has done it. Looks like there is no escape for Sayesha. Now don't get me wrong here. When you work with books all day long, the last thing you wanna do is go home and blog about them! :P

Some day... maybe some day, I will write that post :)
