Contract of deed

On 31st December last year, I wrote a post inviting bewdas to use the comments space as a blank 'contract' and put down their resolution for 2010 using only one word. To those who would leave some kind of contact details, I promised to follow up with a nudge or a kick in the ass to see how they did. So today I sat down and got in touch with them on this. Some had left their email addresses with their comments and for some, I got the email address off their blogs. Responses have started trickling in and I am really kicked.

[Oh, in case you're curious, my resolution for the year was 'discipline' and I gave myself a 'Met expectations' rating.]

So for next year, in a similar vein, I have a question for you, bewdas.

"What will you do in 2011 that you have never done before?"

Due to the nature of the question, it's not confined to only one word this year. Feel free to use as many words as you need. Do sign your 'contract with yourself' in the comments space, and I promise to get in touch again at the end of 2011!

Happy new year, y'all! :D

You got me thinking there Sayesha :)

1. Finish this artwork that I'd started 4 years ago (talk about procrastination!)
2. Learn a new language.
3. Run more and eat well.

I got more than a word there, but I hope that's alright!

Have a good 2011, you and Viv :)

Maine tera wala post open kiya mera word confirm karne toh comment hi nahi thi, phir strike hua ki mail kiya tha tab. Dhundke nikala, 'Update' was the word and super-glad to give myself a 8/10 rating.

"Arrange" is the word and the answer to the question as well :)

//I got more than a word there, but I hope that's alright!

Yeah, I actually didn't mean to confine it to only one word this year, but realised I confused almost everyone so I have edited the post a bit to remove that restriction. :)

#Prasanth,

My resolutions are,

1. Learn Kannada. I have been postponing this for many years now! It's my mom's mother-tongue and I have been living in Bangalore for almost two years now....yes I know, shame on me!!

2. Exercise, eat well and put on weight. I have lost 11 kilos in last two years, none of my clothes fit me!

My e-mail: sanaradhye AT gmail

Season's Greetings to you and Viv :D

Err.That rejection stung :p(Just kidding).
So you mean you never had discipline before???I got confused with that example.
Anyways, I shall operationalize diligence then.
--- I want to keep a journal with fair regularity (which I have never done before)
----- Write more potery
----- Learn Spanish
----- Start learning Violin

Hope those are acceptable and I swear on Bollywood (;) I have not attempted those before

#mythalez,
Good thing you said "to write", otherwise I'd be like "hey bhagwaan you have never read a novel??" :D :D

#Raam Pyari,
All the best! :D

#Urs....Jina,
//So you mean you never had discipline before???I got confused with that example.

Ya allaaaaah! Where's a rolled-up newspaper when you need one? The 'never before' rule is for 2011. The 'discipline' was for 2010 and there was no 'never before' rule for that. I have not listed my 'never before' 2011 item yet. :)

Your new list makes the cut. ;) Bollywood ki kasam khaayi hai, izzat rakh lena! :D

@sayesha, let's see:

- feeling like crap all day? check
- sleeping 12 hours a night? check
- puking my guts out? check
- hearburn, to quote the immortal Juno, radiating down to my kneecaps? check
- went to the doc yesterday and saw a little bean kicking about in my uterus? check

Diagnosis: I have officially gone insane, doing this again deliberately..

I had completely forgotten about this and your email was like a wake-up call..made me think about all the things that I had thought I'll do in 2010 and all the things that actually happened! phew..heavy-dose thinking followed, thanks to you Bhai :D

So coming to the point, this year I'll live in a completely new city, all by myself, for four months or so. THAT is something I've never ever done before and something that I'm really looking forward to. Hopefully this will result in me doing a lot of "never done before" stuff :)

And also,a very Happy Yappy New Year to you and Viv!

For once, to not be the person who a certain someone might like, and just learn to love myself and find the courage to just be me.

And let go of that certain someone this year. At least a little bit. To not cancel my lunch plans (with friends, no less) at the last minute because he looked like he might ask me out that day - in spite of knowing he wont - because he never does.

Ugh, I'm being too wordy. Lets say to just let go of him and move on.
