In character

Recently, one of you bewdas wrote to scold remind me about the fact that there hasn't been a Bollywood poll at the bar for the longest time. Yes, I know. :( I have been lazy. Apun ki poll khul gayi. (okay okay sorry for the bad pun!)

So the poll for this month is to find out who the most memorable Bollywood movie character is. I invite all of you to pop your votes in the comments section. Results will be out in the next post.

ps: My friend Starbreez has suggested using a different font colour for the following sentence because even though it appears in all the poll posts, no one seems to ever pay attention to it. Hmm... let's try.

Comments will be moderated to keep the votes hidden. So bewdas, there is no point in yelling 'Gold'. :P

Gabbar Singh (Sholay)

Distant second is Mogambo (Mr India)

Vijay (AB, Deewar)

But if voting a team is allowed too, count my vote towards the Sholay cast.

[Hope it's not like only the registered bewdas can vote ..? :) ]

Gabbar singh may win and so may vijay....even MAA is one unforgettable bollywood character... but i think in recent times DJ played by Aamir in RDB is just amazing.. he epitomizes the helplessness and frustration against the system so well.. especially in the scene where he punctuate each of his thoughtful dialogue with a Dim Lak Lak.... and at the end says, beer da kasoor hai....

Gabbar Singh gets my vote and then comes 'Devdas'.

Devdas just for the fact that so many producers got fascinated by that character and have made that movie.

Ofcourse Raj from DDLJ...it doesnt get any more memorable than that. *sigh*

I am not big on Bollywood, or Hollywood, or any wood. So I guess when people speak of Bolllywood movies, I might think of SSSK. Does that person qualify as a candidate answer to this poll?

(Oh wait was I just extremely bored and just trying to flatter you? Or did I really mean it?

Anyways I am sure that being the health freak that you are, you wouldn't mind someone trying to 'flatter' you. Who needs a flabby tummy anyways. Right? Flatter is better ;)

)

(Yes all this gibberish has proven beyond doubt that I am sitting bored waiting for a 27 MB driver to download on an extremely slow connection)

(I wonder if this comment is ever going to see light of day err I mean light of a CRT, Plasma or LCD display or what-have-yous)

Man!, Gabbar is winning hands down ... (i'm sure there's a bad pun to be made here, using the phrase 'hands up' ... but whatever it is, i cant think of it)

anyhoo, most memorable character ... Gabbar and Mogambo are gonna come in first and second place ... so to help out some forgotten memorable character to come in 3rd place ... my vote goes to Crime Master Gogo ... (so 2nd and 3rd rank stay in the same family, then)

Other memorable characters - All characters from Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron, GolMaal and Andaz Apna Apna - D'Mello, Tarneja, Ram / Laxman Prasad Sharma, Bhavaani Shankar, Teja, etc ...

Don't know if you've done this before, but an idea for a future poll - most memorable quote - should be fun.

Brilliant blog ... landed up here after googling a Golmaal quote ... and ending up at a previous poll about the funniest bollywood movie
