Bottom of the barrel

The results of the poll for the worst movie are out!

The third place is actually shared by FOUR movies! :O

The second place has been swooped up by...

And finally, top spot goes to - no surprises here - the one and only...

I am proud to declare that of all the movies seen here, I have seen only one, phew! As for my own vote, I was torn between Naach and Banaras but decided to finally go with Banaras.

And here are other movies the bar bewdas have issued a warning about:

Hello Brother (holy cow I still remember Rani's thunder thighs from this one!), Ankahee, Bachke Rehna Re Baba (horrible rip off of Heartbreakers), Boom (I only remember AB's weird wig), Chup Chup Ke, Clerk (what movie is this???), Daud (I didn't watch it, but I heard that apparently Sanju Baba and Urmi babe were running around with a nuclear bomb contained in a briefcase?), Dhoom, Dil Toh Pagal Hai (Heyyy! I was in love with this movie for the longest time man!), Ek Chhoti Si Love Story (BLEAH! Why oh why did I watch it?? I still don't understand why Manisha Koirala roamed around at home in a singlet and when she wanted to go out, she'd put on a second singlet over the first one!), Guru (Bleah again!), Hum Saath Saath Hain (gawwwd have I ever wanted to kill Karishma more?), Jhoom Barabar Jhoom, Jimmy (somebody actually watched Mithun-putra Mimoh???), Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna (hated it alright!), Khushi, Laaga Chunari Mein Daag (Raja Sen's review said 'Laaga chunari se bhaag so I skipped it), Masti, Mela, Mujhe Kuchh Kehna hai (Actually I find Tushar so earnest I can never hate a movie with him in it), No Entry (Seriously, who the hell finds Bipasha hot? Yuck!), No Smoking, Om Shanti Om, Prem Granth, Rok Sako Toh Rok Lo, Shiva, Taal, Tauba Tauba (review's in the movie name, yeah?), Trimurti and Yaadein (Why oh why does Hrithik do these movies??).

Nope I can't really comment on a worst movie post.

I have this great ability to be 'entertained' by any damn movie.

Jaani Dushman is a fulltu comedy. Especially if watched with friends.

I cant really hate a movie in which the parrot gives Oscar level performance! And Kareena...aah *mock swoons*

Paheli: Its a great children's and childish movie if you watch it that way. Full entertainment!
It is deeply mind-boggling if you really try to decipher what actully hapened.
Apart from jokes, I somehow really like deserts and Rajasthani folks. They have this resilence, grace and nimble quickness I cant describe. Rani really protrayed it well in some of the scenes

Tashan & RGV dekhni baaki hai. But I am sure they are great movies. I guess the only those viewers who grumble are the ones not qualified to watch and appreciate such classic movies! ;)

So you see, I could not really have answered a worst movie poll. So I did not.

Didn't comment on the previous post, but if I did it would have been - Aap Mujhe Ache lagne lage.

Amisha Patel is stupid. All the time. :|

Dhoom, Dil Toh Pagal Hai, Guru!!!
Thank heavens these bewdas did not see Bombay to Bangkok.

//Yaadein (Why oh why does Hrithik do these movies??).

There was this song in the movie(I think it was the Jab dil miley song) where Roshan Junior was dancing on the shores and there were animations of him multiplying like an amoeba. Was so damn hillarious.

Khushi in the hate list? I loved the Tamil version. Didn't see the Hindi one...but with Kareena and Fardeen, I can imagine why it must've sucked :)

I couldn't decide between "Jaani Dushman" and "Gunda"... (Gunda has "cult" dialogues, while Jaani Dushman has "cult" action scenes.) So I thought I should leave this alone.

As for "Aag", haven't seen it, won't see it if all other film reels (and DVDs) in the world are burned.

i guess most people havnt watched gunda.. its shuda won.. it really deserves it.. they worked soo hard for it :P

gunda has a rating of 8.4 on imdb..
and this is how the plot is described on imdb

Shankar, a coolie, comes in the way of the bad guys, Bulla and his cronies. They kill his father and sister. Shankar vows revenge and eliminates all of them in bizarre and gruesome fashion
believe me bizarre is a compliment haha :P

OMG! I have seen 2.5 of these movies. Tsk tsk what a shame (and one of them in hall! (Jaani Dushman))

RGV ki AAG sure wins! I was sure it would even though I did not vote. Hmmm, wow, votes do make sense once in a while.

The coolest part of your blog is the part where it reads "63 bewdas got fulltu talli!" Real nice.

Great idea for movie poll.
Appreciated...
But this poll is for all those well-known movies that flopped badly.
I suggest create a similar poll for movies those are not well-known before the release but were a Big Flopped or Big Hit.
Good imagination !
Claps for you.

loved the results!
how cum Guru ended up on this list?
:(
I really liked it-the plot,the dialogues,the screenplay,the works.

Just outta curiosity ...why'd you bleah it?

starbreez said...

Aiyah, Paheli wasn't that bad ... treat it like an arthouse film meditating on the plight of women in empty marriages.

I'm sorry I missed my chance to vote in these polls! Are you going to have more for other categories (funniest, silliest, smartest, etc.)?

Gunda?! Worst movie?! Never. It is a cult favourite. If one focuses on the hidden meaning behind the dialogues of the film, it is no less than attaining moksha!

Don't tell me you rely on Raja Sen's reviews. Although LCMD was a movie not worth watching, I skip any movie which Raja Sen praises and vice versa.

Overall a nice collection tho.

Kanan said...

Hahaha! no way could that be possible, Sayesha :P because guess what!? two of those six - Tashan & MPKDH - get position in the first list of my favorite movies.

Oh god, Jaani Dushman. Definitely, undoubtedly, absolutely one of the worst movies I've ever seen. Yet I watched the whole thing.... Shudder.
