I didn't have the chance to catch India's Got Talent on TV but Youtube ki jai ho, I came across the winning final act -- Dashavtara (the ten avtaras of Vishnu). Prince Dance Group, made up of 26 daily wage labourers, have created something so beautiful, your heart will ache for reasons you won't know.
"Is pachaas laakh ki hum logon ko chaah nahin hai, balki iski sakht zaroorat hai."
("We don't desire the 50-lakh prize. We desperately need it.")
Watch their semi-final performance here -- it's not every day that you see Shekhar Kapoor crying so bad he can hardly speak.
(Okay I admit I too shed ganga-jamuna bigtime.)

The Prince group was a worthy winner.
In one of the earlier rounds, another group replicated an entire level of Mario Bros perfectly. Very unique and entertaining. Watch it if you can find it.

I never got time to see the show...but this 10 avatars of Vishnu act, its wonderful! Narasimha formation, its oh-my-GOD!
muhahaha! am improving! 5th!! now i'll watch the video!
oh my..! awesome team! thanks for putting these up Sayesha!
wow!! tht was one breath-taking nd inspiring performance. I loved da synchronisation in them. The leaving of self identity and becoming a colour or a form.
Speechless!!
Brilliant! Bravo! Masterpiece! Encore!
I even got compelled to do full screen of the videos!
Really great! No matter how many times seen!
And one of the few times I actually miss not having bought a television!
i saw it it was awesome, you can say i too became a cry bay that time ;)
take care and keep writing............
Hey,
They are good but the the Indian version is quite similar to the original version Britain's got Talent... The finale act seems like an Indian adaptation/lift of the original

I too watched PDG performance courtesy Youtube. To be honest, I'd have lost whatever little faith I have in public voting system if they didn't win.
Another thing I loved about IGT is the sheer variety of talent on display; in finals they had salsa , a rock band, malkhambh, rajasthani folk song, hip-hop dance, mimicry, bhangra etc. Hard to find such variety anywhere else in the world.
Oh yeah, ma forced me to see it last week. But they are unbelievably talented. For a change, I thought some talent show did a good thing. These guys are a treat to watch.
thanks for sharing the such wonderful videos.. it's just the sheer talent and discipline..
Prince group is an old group..they have done all these acts in boogie woohgie and won many a times... you can catch their previous performances..
#~Lopa,
I'd never even heard of this dance group! Awesome stuff man!
PS: Thanks for the reco on Sneha and Richard... they're sooo talented! :)
#V,
Mario Bros? You mean the SuperMario act? I saw that on Youtube too... wanted to buzz them off! :P
#ramya,
Totally!
#Porkodi,
You're welcome! :)
#shweta,
I second every word, sister!!
#Stupido,
Chalo pehli baad tuney seriously baithkar koi serious kaam kiya!
#Thousif,
Hahaha! Looks like a lot of people cried. :))
#n.aka.zephyr,
Hmm... Actually I didn't find that it was a lift... the folks in Britain's Got Talent are proper dancers, but The Prince Group is not so much about dance, it's about formations and spirit. :)
#Ashwin,
Oh yeah I was also thinking about the variety... they had all kinds of stuff!!
#R,
Yeah! Mom was telling me how famous they are now and how the government is trying to make their lives better. Good good! :)
#Hari,
You're welcome. :)
#Priyanka,
I had never seen or heard of them before... but then I don't watch a lot of TV... Youtube ki jai ho! :D

yup...saw the finale on tv and this performance was superb...for once my sms votes yielded some results ;-)
It was really surprising to not see Rohan and group in the top three...they are pretty good and have won Boogie Woogie group dance competition recently...
Bhai is a Baaad Maaan?
//#Stupido,
