Come again?

While rehearsing for the dance we did for Shub's surprise birthday party, I realised that this song, even though featuring rather heavily in all our get-togethers, has actually never made it to 'Video of the week' at the bar. Before you do a double-take and yell, "WHAT? You guys danced at Shub's surprise birthday party??", take a look at the video. You'll soon be yelling, "WHAT? You guys danced to THIS at Shub's surprise birthday party??"

Oh the singing. The dancing. The lyrics. The movie title (Operation Diamond Racket). I have no words to describe them.

Presenting, bewdas and bewdis, "If you come today", second only to the legendary Benny Lava.

*respect*

tic tic tic is NOT second to benny lava. tic tic tic gives benny lava something to aspire to. :)

Hi Sayesha,

The man singing the song is late Dr Rajkumar, the superstar of Kannada cinema. He dropped out of school when he was in Class III and hence did not receive formal training in English. In spite of that, he attempted to sing in English and may be the accent is different, because he may not have got the pronounciations right. Not sure if you know more about this humble person, but surely he was a superstar in real and reel life. Do google Dr RajKumar to know more about how he led a simple and pious life.

Not trying to be serious or lecture about this person, just want the readers to know that it is an attempt by a person who did not have any formal education in English. There is thin line between having fun and making fun of others.

By the way, I live in Singapore too::) I enjoy reading your posts.

Cheers,
Sandhya
