The high flyer

At the company's end-of-financial-year party yesterday, one of the bosses told the story of how the decision to have the party in the Singapore flyer aka the world's highest observation wheel was made.

When the coordinator of the event proposed the venue for the party, this is how she described it.

"It's a bit expensive, very slow, everything goes round and round, but it doesn't really get anywhere." She said to him.

"Oh!! So we're having the party at corporate headquarters???" was his response.

As we burst into laughter at his dig at corporate headquarters, I couldn't help but think - that description couldn't have been more accurate for the Singapore Flyer. It is unbelievably slow. If you've been on the London eye and found that slow, welcome to the new definition of slowness.

At least I got some nice pictures from the world's highest boredom chamber. :/

Initially, seeing the pics, I thought it was london eye, and felt happy that you are here in london. I din;t know that Singapore also had one. It wasn't there when I was in Singapore one and half years back. Anyways, nice pics. Hope you enjoyed the high flyer.

//world's highest boredom chamber

LOL! Seriously ? I thought we wouldn't know when one round got over because we would be totally engrossed in absorbing the scenery.

You had your company's end-of-financial-year party in a big ferris wheel?

Ah the things Sayesha is always 'up'to!

I mean how?
Did you all like book a few cabins of the thing for the whole day and enjoy music, food, masti and maybe booze inside it throughout, like some revolving hotel?

Then I think you should be thankful for so many reasons that its so slow.

Or was it like you booked some nearby place, and every now and then some of you went up the wheel for a ride?

And just because I luuurv asking extremely stupid questions (as my name suggests),

Is that the reflection of your camera flash in the seventh picture or is it just the sun?

#Pizzadude,
Yeah man... the scenery is nice in parts, but you see a lot of construction shit that just ruins it all. And that damn thing moves so slow I felt like I was just standing in my office and looking out the window! :/

#Tejal,
Bulana padega? Hmmph! Arre aap toh President ho... jab dil karey chale aao! Viv and I will receive you at the airport with an ugly garland like we did for Pizzadude! Hehe! :P

#Maryum,
Hahahaha! I am looking at Viv's family tree now... if he has any eligible male cousins, I will play pictionary with him first before shortlisting. Chalega? :P

#Stupidosaur,
//You had your company's end-of-financial-year party in a big ferris wheel?

Holy cow! The government of Singapore will sue you if you call it a Ferris Wheel! :P It's the world's largest observation wheel no less! :P

//Did you all like book a few cabins of the thing for the whole day and enjoy music, food, masti and maybe booze inside it throughout, like some revolving hotel?

Hehehe... kind of, but not for the whole day... about 40 mins or so. :) The booze was inside but the food, etc. was after the ride, in a restaurant nearby.

//Is that the reflection of your camera flash in the seventh picture or is it just the sun?

Sheesh! It IS the sun! :D

Are you sure it didn't just "seem" so slow? I mean, consider your company. I bet any couple going up would say it was too fast ;)
